NYC Poster series - experimental

This poster series is in a sense, a continuation of the black/white cityscape series. However, I knew from the beginning that I wanted a different look to this series since NYC is such a vastly diverse environment. As such, a more modern approach was taken on this series.

To achieve this desired aesthetic, these pieces sought to evoke a subtle emotional reaction by experimenting with usage of color overlays on top of some of the same photos used in the previous series, along with the introduction of a couple different photos taken in Central Park. 

In addition to the color overlays, a simple yet visually intriguing typography layout was chosen, combining vertical and horizontal text orientations as well as a subtle texture across "New York City" to provide visual interest as well as to play off of the feel of the city itself.
